New Faces Modeling - Review in Advertising category

Hello, I received a message via my twitter page asking me if I was interested in turning up for a commercial shoot next weekend, though I would have to pay out £320 for a costume hire and will be reimbursed on the day of arrival, they said I will receive £3020 for the shoot. I'm not sure if I should do this, as I've been Scammed before through an agency called Models Direct, knowing as Talent Management, I've been with them for 2 years, I handed over £134 and did not find me any work at all. Thank you, Kind Regards, William

They scammed me and they took advantage of me

They made me pay upfront, then they made me pay for a lousy portfolio of low quality, then they promised me to help find me work, to upgrade it (but they ended up not doing anything!) and when I got fed up after several months of waiting for them to find me work and I got so angry that I tried to confront Peter and demand for proof that they're legit he ("Peter") kicked me out and said he never wanted to see me again. He even allowed me to work in the office, but only briefly, and he and his colleagues treated me like rubbish. They had no respect for me at all!

New Faces, Now trading as Millenium Castings: Scam

After answering an add in Gumtree for extras I recieved an email from Millenium Castings. Millenium Castings Bear Street 11-12, London WC2H 7AS Leicester Square, 0207 766 **** 0207 766 **** The scammer who runs it changes the name so many times its best to search for it on google using the two phone numbers. I am a professional photographer so I did not need the to take my photos but I asked him many questions about his company and why they needed "18" photos. He was unable to remember his bosses name; saying his surname was at first "Peter" Then saying he got it wrong and it was in fact, Punwar, Then he said he couldn't remember the website address of his own company, then said it was down and there was no point me knowing the address for the old one, then he said he doesn't know the new website address. I pointed out that its a bit strange that he doesn't know the name of his boss or the website address. He said he had only been working there for "7 weeks". I got ore and more suspicious when I asked for a list of the photos that they require and he said then need between 15 and 20 and I said, "ok. List what you need so I can supply those for you." He said "angry, sad, happy, thinking, shocked..." and then couldn't think of any more. So he said, just do two of each! :) I was actually laughing by the time he hung up on me. But I shouldn't laugh. This guy is a real scammer and its such a shame that they prey on gullible wannabe models, actors and extras who haven't done the research. He will probably never be stopped. Because how can you prove that its not a real agency. All he needs to do is submit one person to one job and he is doing what he's supposed to do. He can always blame the model for being too ugly! :) If we all called his number every half an hour and spent twenty minutes asking him questions he would not be able to run his scam...

There are lots of scams going on nowadays and it's just too unfortunate how scammers use and pose as other people or companies. The only New Faces company that i know of that's legitimate is the online modeling portfolio www.newfaces.com. It's a nice platform for models to be scouted by agents & photographers.Hope this doesn't happen to anyone so we all have to keep in mind to be extra careful.

New faces Models agency

Updated by user Nov 16, 2012

I also forgot to mention that the interview lied to me that they only accept photos from few photographers they only recommend. She said by law i have to get them done legally with their photographers.

If i have photos done by other professional photographers they most likely will not be accepted. Instant money making scam alert!!!

New faces models agency Cameo House, Bear Street Leicester Square, London WC2H 7AS 0207 766 ****. I got details from Gumtree joblist. This agency is a scam. I went there last week Sept 2012. An indian accented lady picked the phone up to book an appointment. When i got there i knocked on the door as they wrote to do so before entering. I saw an Indian looking lady who asked me to wait outside the reception area, not very friendly at all. I was called in and the same indian lady interviewed me. Again not friendly but better than before slightly. I was told the photographer will take pics of me and i shud pose in 10 different ways. i felt i little comfortable as the photographer kept taking pictures before i changed as i didnt know what to do. Then the indian lady told me to ring in half an hour to get my results. I called in half an hour and no one answered for ages. So I walked to their office to find the indian lady there by herself. She said everyone has left now and she closed her laptop so could not check if i was successful. She said we need to check if u are photogenic. Then she goes call tomorrow in the afternoon. I did and another Indian accented lady picked the phone up saying everyone is out doing castings and she couldn't help me. I asked her to tell someone to call me the next day. I made her promise. The next day came and went. No one has called me and it's been a week. Absolutely rubbish modeling, extra, acting agency. Unprofessional and the room they take the photos looked a bit like a tarot card readers room. Please do not waste your time going there. I'm very pissed off with them as I had to walk back to check if I was successful or not and got no answer. I donno what they did with my pics and personal info.

Hello, I'm posting this from the United States. I use to own a background company by the name of "Millennium Casting", way back in the 90's and early 2000's.

However some drunk ran into me, breaking my neck and back so I had to lose down. I as just bored, so I thought that I would see if my company was still on the Internet. That is how I came across this posting. It looks like it is located in England, so there isn't much I can do for you.

However I know millions, upon Millions of people of people around the world are hoping to. Make it big in the industry. I have to assume that actors have a union over there just as we have SAG/AFTRA in America. My advice to you is go on line and see if there is a union.

If so, then contact them, asking them to recommend some legal casting coming companies for background me ( aka: movie extra's). They may be able to guide you in the right direction. If anyone is rude to u in any of the places u go, run, do not walk to the nearest exit. Do not allow them to talk you into spending hundreds of dollars on head shots.

As for as classes, check with the business license office o the town where they are located to be sure they are legit.

Hope this helps you out. All my best ...

hi, I think I meet the same thing as you too.

Is there is a man named peter?

Guest

Total scam and what they're doing is illegal. They make outrageous promises that are not legally possible within the industry.

If you want to be an extra, sign up with CastingCollective, Mad Dog, Phoenix Casting, etc. legit registers SA agencies.

Remember any extras agency that charges upfront fees or photo fees is a scam! Any legit acting or extras agency will take commission out of your jobs.

Guest

They go under a different name called Millennium Castings.

Dont be fooled people this guy 'Peter' needs to be stopped.

In June 2013 I had exactly the same experience and had same said to me by the Indian looking girl named Jessica at the office in suite 27 Cameo house bear st leics square London setup under the name new faces 2013. she charged me £500 and sent me for a photoshoot in hammersmith (putney bridge area) as she told that there was Asian bridal magazine work for me.

while I had photos taken at the studio called casting studios my money was stolen from my purse. I suffered so much after this experience but I still believed them.

I can't believe how *** I was fooled and robbed like this.

I hope one day she regrets what she has done to innocent people.

Millenium Casting agency 27 11 bear st leciester sq !!! i went there today after seeing an ad on gumtree..there was a young asian girl who took pictures then told me to come back after 30 mins ..i went back and there was a man also asian with her who said they liked my pics and wanted to offer me a 6 month contract but i needed a portfolio first ..well that seemed realistic until she showed me the price of the packages the cheapest being 195 and she said also that they would give me the next package which is 295 as they would add 100 to it !

The guy also said his name was peter! i was actually considering it and nearly put a deposit down so glad i trusted my instintcs and said i will think about it ..sounds like they are just using another name now...when i think about it they didnt show me any models they already have on there books, no examples of the pics i might get and they dont even have A WEBSITE !!!Think about it before handing over your money not worth the risk i say

Guest

Millenium casting is completely rubbish. There was a Blondie who asked me -Why do you want to do this?

What are you doing these days? Nothing? and started making faces as if I was an alien or something. Don't waste your time guys.

Its tarot reader room as someone rightly said. I am afraid as well as to what are they going to do with my details.

Guest

im surprised to see sooo many pple against this place, whilst ive never been let down since i have been signed in with them- since last nov.. i cant understand how can it have let so many pple down as, they provide castings to those signed in a contract with them and its up to the models to apply if interrested.

i got 1 designer catwalk and 3 extra works so far, out of which 2 were my own applications.

i'm sorry for those being let down..i did my pictures and quite happy, atleast so far.. finger crossed, that i wont b let down in future, :)

Guest

lol, lucky me to get a fashion show through them in that case...

Guest

I went in too, already had professional photos - they advised me to go to training in their putney branch which they claimed to be done by the london school of modelling (cost £150) was unsure whether to proceed so I said I'll think about it and did not.

Glad I didnt by reading the comments!

Is this the new faces that arrested 3 ladies for the $250,000 they scammed families for or newfaces.com site where you upload your own photos and join? I heard that site is reputable and also models.com.

So which is it?

Guest

Lol you people are retarded, why would you pay that much for some *** photos! Hahahaha :roll

Guest

New face company is 100% big fat liar.please don't go there because I experience bad and ripped my $3000.there never call you back .first there take ur money and give you big dream but don't believe.sincerly hard working parent of 1 kid,

Kinnick Gpe

It is so sad to hear those stories from hard working parents LIKE ME . Those people(NEW FACE MANAGER AS WELL AS WORKERS) deserve jail.

It is not right to play with parents as well as kids feeling. They got my money too and I never ever heard from them again. We should get together and protest for the well being of other parents and shut down this place for good. It is not right, They have mess up with so many parents that it is time to act on behid of future ripp off.

I do not understand why not noone has put an end to this madness. First they asked me for 550 for fotos then to display 1800.

I want my money back, if any parent out there that would like to stop it let join force and get our money back.

Guest

Ur right nigggas took my pic and never called they took 3,000 dollars from my dad and I never became a *** model *** dead cats balls new faces *** I had to wait for ***

Guest

Guest

what a scam!! there people should be go jail.

in queens mall, people approach me that my kids could be a model.

we got contact and took pictures...gave money. when we came to get pictures ..need to pay more money. after couples months, they called.

saying my kids were chosen to model for macy for 4 years. asking for more money...

i writing to tell parents know this hurt myself and the kids ...thinking they can be someone famous or on the cover.

Guest

OMG! Just went their with my mom last week.......she had a bad feeling and left...and i got mad at her and was so let down because walking out of there i thought I could be modeling.

The head Director claimed I could shoot for DKNY....and other "huge" companies. SO HAPPY my parents didn't waste the money there.....besides me there are three other kids...two being disabled! This company is HORRIBLE!!!

And so convincing! They must be stopped!!!

Guest

This agency uses young girls to scout children [my case]. After filling a short application [in a mall], you receive a phone call from the agency about 3 - 5 days later. During the call, they assure you no fees are involved, however when you get there and they show what you child can gain and even an immediate possibility for the Gap, the sales speech and visual cards, they show you the prices for the photo shoot that will cost you from $550 to $2200, based on # of outfits you want your kid to be photographed.

When you reject their so consider offer, they quickly ask you to leave because they have 190 other kids to interview.

Good thing we were not caught in this scam.. please watch out..

I rejected their offer as one of my friends who is a photographer advise me, Agencies get paid, you get paid, you NEVER pay first.
